Very often, the stills from my final pieces are my favorite product of the video editing process. I obsess over composition while shooting and when I review footage my heart races when I find the perfect shot. During editing I am driven by the desire to showcase my favorite moments. For my more abstract pieces like ‘deep water // arising’ where I play with color, opacity and effects, my process becomes more like a painter’s than an editor’s.
